Dr. George J. Anders, Fellow of IEEE, is a world expert in the field of ampacity calculations of electric power cables, he published over 70 papers in IEEE Transactions on this subject, wrote 3 books and taught numerous courses on cable rating issues. Dr. Anders was a co-convener of WG19 of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), which develops international standards for electric power cable rating calculations. He is the author of the computational algorithms implemented in the CYMCAP program.

Dr. Anders also specializes in reliability calculations for electric power systems including modeling of the effects of equipment maintenance policies on component and system reliability. He is a recipient of 2016 IEEE Halperin Award in Transmission and Distribution and Ontario Professional Engineers' Medal of Engineering Excellence. He is also a recipient of the 2018 IEEE Roy Billinton Award in Power System Reliability.
